NICK HOLDSWORTH (BRITISH CONTEMPORARY)’Rolling Stones’, a pixelated full-length portrait of the Band , each pixel is a single portrait, signed bottom right. Mixed digital media on board ORIGINAL. Artwork size: 94cm x 124cm framed, image 89cm x 118cm. Publisher: DeMontfort Fine Art. Stunning statement piece by Nick Holdsworth. It’s All About The Detail. Nick cites himself as one of the first designer T-shirt label brands building upon the’90s obsession with psychedelic images and youth culture. He has also worked on collaborations with Levis Red-Japan, Eliminator-Japan, Block 60-Italy, Griffin Studio-UK, and Harvey Nichols. It was Nick’s unique techniques and style that began to gain interest from the art industry and he began to explore ways to express his love of fashion and culture through individual pieces of fine art. His background in design meant his digital skills opened a world of possibilities to him, and after years of experimentation, he is now producing breath taking mixed -media pieces based around these interests. Nick’s creative process is both playful and complex, and informs the entire message of each powerful portrait. Once he has chosen an image to work with, he will manipulate it using a pixilation process, this is a technique that requires vigilant control over the placement for each individual pixel (of which there are hundreds for each image). The pixilation is then overlaid with Nick’s chosen repeated icon, often a famous brand logo, which he identifies for its association with the chosen subject. An example of this is his Kate Moss portrait; this was based on a photo shoot she did for Playboy Magazine, so the graphic Nick chose to work with was the playboy bunny. Nick then adjusts the scale of these icons to enhance the definition to the overall subject and finishes by using airbrush and inks to add colour and tone to the painting, thereby introducing a hand finished and original element to each piece. This thoroughly modern, cutting edge process contrasts with the nostalgic nature of the images, which Nick says are inspired by the musical legends of his youth, and the hours spent flicking through his mother’s fashion magazines as a child. This unexpected combination imbues the pieces with emotional depth, occasional wit, and a surprisingly vintage style for something so contemporary. Freddie Mercury’s sister and Brian May both hold Nick’s portraits of Freddie in their private collections.

Rare, unique Rolling Stones poster (25 by 20 inches) that’s reflective; made of thin, metallic-like material, from 1978, to promote their classic SOME GIRLS album (their last great one from the’70s), with the band looking fantastic. A fantastic find for true Stones’ fans. The poster is in very good to near mint condition, with some tape marks on the back. Please see my photos.
Original/Vtg – The Rolling Stones – European Tour 1976. 27.75″/70cm x 20″/51cm. Rolling Stones Photo Hiro. Delow Printers Ltd England. Always one of The Stones best tour posters – with its surreal/comic-strip imagery and vivid colours thanks to the glowing Northern Lights halo-effects around a the group shot from Hiro’s original photo shoot for the cover of’Black & Blue’ – which was released earlier that same year. Presumably like others, I was confused by the plethora of sizes for this poster – all of which claimed to be original. And my assumption is it came in 2 sizes – possibly one of which was also available at the venues (it was quite a small tour by modern standards – and in much smaller venues). However, I believe this is an original – and it certainly has the’feel-patina-smell’ & paper stock for a poster of the period. And the printer’s lettering details also look’right': It’ s certainly a nice example from the height of The Stones’ purple period – and were yet to be challenged by the rising tides of a New Wave. It’s a good size for many locations & would look very good framed – requiring no backing/restoration. And, if you’re in London, you’re welcome to visit and check the poster 1st – Just call: 07890195351. Length – 27.75/ 70cm. Width – 20/ 51cm. In the Mid-90s I collected Vintage Movie Posters: All being offered here have been carefully stored, in poster tubes in cool, dry clean conditions since. Concurrently & subsequently I have collected a number of music & travel posters – again, all being offered are originals only. Additionally, as I know the disappointment of receiving things that are not as presented, I’ll be making every effort to describe things clearly & honestly – whilst giving any further information I can.
This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of music history. The photo measures 19″ x 16″ and has been signed by the legendary Pattie Boyd, who was married to Eric Clapton and played a crucial role in the formation of the Rolling Stones. The autograph is accompanied by an original stamp, adding to the value and authenticity of this item. The photo captures a momentous occasion, bringing together some of the most iconic artists in the history of rock and pop music, and the photo is a must-have for any serious collector of music memorabilia. The item is located in the United Kingdom and is perfect for display in any home or office.
Original pressing in die cut sleeve and printed inner sleeve showing celebrities that were swiftly removed for future represses. Vinyl is a beautifully clean EXCELLENT with just one hair line scuff that doesn’t affect play. Other than that just a little dusty and the bulk of the LP actually looks near mint. Very quiet playback throughout! Inner sleeve has a seam split along the bottom and a split almost a third of the way down one side. Outer sleeve is VG+ with just some light creasing and a little dirty here and there.
A very warm welcome! I’m offering extraordinary items out of my collection – and I’m glad to see that you’re interested in this wonderful item. In more than 40 years (including 15 years as a radio reporter and DJ), I collected over 800 signed vinyl records alone plus literally thousands of other autographs on photos etc. , that were hand-signed by the artists when I met them for interviews or promotion all over Europe. My collection is unique – and this is one of my jewels. I don’t want to give it away, really. That’s why the asking price is what it is. If someone really, really wants it, however, I’ll let it go. “Rolling Stone – The Photographs” is a spectacular compilation of award-winning photographs from the first 22 years of the “Rolling Stone” magazine. It provides a visual chronicle of American rock and pop music culture as reflected in the magazine. Photographers include Annie Leibovitz, Herb Ritts, Richard Avedon, Albert Watson, Steven Meisel, Matthew Rolston and Bruce Weber – just to name a few. This is the original hardcover edition of the book, published in 1989. I started asking people to sign this volume in 1993 – only after I met Sammy Hagar, unfortunately (his signature is therefore missing in the book). The first artist to sign the book was Bruce Springsteen who was kind enough to leave his mark after he played a show in Berlin, Germany. In fact, most of the 49 signatures of the various artists and groups in this wonderful book. Come from Germany, where I met them individually between 1993 and today. With all the original autographs in it, I believe that this book is one of a kind. It’s very likely that there is no other one like this anywhere on the planet. I have never seen such a jewel in all these years. The following people, artists and bands hand-signed this book for me. Jack Nicholson (2x), His Holyness the 14th. Stevie Wonder (his hand let by his personal assistant). Terence Trent D’Arby. If you would like to see additional signatures in this book, please let me know. I will be happy to share the other photos in messages. The amount of hours and travel expenses invested to get all these signatures are too numerous to be counted. It really took a lifetime and a fortune to get to this point. In general, I obtained all autographs face-to-face (” in person “). I started collecting signed items back in 1985 and only decided to give some of them away several years ago. I guarantee the authenticity of each and every signature I offer. If you wish me to do so, I will be glad to issue a personal letter of authenticity, telling you in detail when, where and under what circumstances I received the different signatures in question. That written statement is a legally binding, lifetime guarantee, that the item you bought is genuine. The book obviously shows clear signs of usage, storage and/or age, but is in good condition overall and comes from a smoke-free/pet-free environment. It goes without saying that I will be very accurate and careful preparing and packing this item for you. Regarding the value of the volume, I will only send it insured and registered with a tracking ID. That’s obviously more expensive, but worth the investment. If you have any further questions, or if you want to submit a best offer for this item, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time. May I invite you to have a look at my other auctions?
