Rare and early vintage issue of iconic US music Creem magazine. This magazine comes with great provenance; originating from the Roal Free Press Archive offices in Amsterdam, Netherlands. DAN CARLISLE, JOHN SMALL and RUSS GIBB re-enact the famous Beatles Abbey Road crossing album cover for “The Paul McCartney Death Hoax – and how it grew” cover feature. Also in this issue – Charles/Charlie Auringer (photographer and author of the Whole Lotta Led Zeppelin book). Rare back cover advert for the Rolling Stones gig in Michigan on their North American Tour. Support was from Terry Reid & BB King! Marc Bolan’s Tyrannosaurus Rex (doing some US gigs to promote the Unicorn LP). Full page ads for the Kinks and Stones. Plus LP and music news and reviews. 29 x 40 cm when unfolded, A3 format that opens out to A2. This magazine was originally folded but we will post it flat as shown in the first image. Excellent condition with some light wear to the edges and natural yellowing in places. The photograph shows the magazine you will receive. There is also a small tear on a page inside opposite the Tyrannosaurus Rex feature. There is a stamp for Roal Free Press in Amsterdam on the cover, top right – it came from the Netherlands (see photo).
